Hear a night of exciting roots music at the beautiful renovated historic theater The Kate in scenic Old Saybrook Ct.
The headliner is internationally acclaimed wild soul-man singer/songwriter Grayson Hugh, stomping and working up an almost Pentecostal fervor, pounding the piano in his masterful style, singing his smash radio hits, his songs from films "Thelma and Louise" and "Fried Green Tomatoes" and others from his vast library.
Scoring big in the late eighties and early nineties with hits like "Talk It Over", "Bring It All Back" and How Bout Us", Hugh has made a dramatic return to the public eye and ear with his 2010 cd "An American Record".  In the words of CMA.com writer Bob Doerschuk: "With 'An American Record', the payoff is just beginning. Grayson Hugh has been there and is back again. His story – our story – has to be heard."
Performing with Hugh, on backup vocals, is the inimitable and versatile singer Polly Messer, formerly with the Connecticut swing band Eight To The Bar and the New York rockabilly band Eugene Chrysler.
Opening the show is another acclaimed artist, bluegrass singer/songwriter Caroline Doctorow, performing with her tight bluegrass band The Steamrollers.
